October 2008 Umbria, Italy Anita Klein and Nigel Swift will be running a week long residential painting and drawing course from 11-18 October 2008 in a stunning country house/ hotel in Umbria, Italy. It will be a kind of house party, with all meals, wine, beer, liqueurs, fruit etc included. See www.villapia.com . Also included will be basic materials and tuition, masterclasses, group discussions and individual tutorials in painting and drawing, to include composition, both figurative and abstract, overcoming creative block, finding personal subject matter and working directly from landscape. There will also be the opportunity to book cookery classes and massage treatments for an extra fee, as well as obviously the opportunity to explore Umbria and nearby Tuscany and all its art. Of course non painting partners are welcome. Costs, (excluding travel, it is near Perugia served by Ryanair from Stansted) are in the region of £800 per person per week in double or twin bedded rooms. Single rooms are also available for a small supplement. You can reserve a place with a deposit of £100 per person (non-refundable).
