statement of work

My work creates an atmosphere that is warm, humorous and uncanny.
Figures are often isolated and vulnerable but curious about their
relationship to their surroundings.

I want the work to bring you close into the story, to create a curiosity in the viewer.
The arrangement of everyday objects interwoven in the work hopefully evokes
memories, secrets or thoughts. A sense of a story that never reaches a conclusion.

I experiment continuously with watercolour, graphite, collage and wax, and draw inspiration
from myths and stories where vessels are often used to represent the inner self.
When we draw back the curtain what do we see? Or whom do we invite?
